Agro Haryana, New Delhi: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rains even today. Orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains in Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri.
At the same time, in other 21 districts of UP, a warning has been issued regarding rain. Since the beginning of August, more than average rainfall is being recorded. On Monday too, UP recorded 135 mm more rainfall than the average for the fourth consecutive day.

According to the Meteorological Department, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Santakbir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Sitapur, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar,
An alert has been issued for rain with thunder and lightning in Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and surrounding areas.
Record breaking rain in Lakhimpur
Talking about Monday's weather, Lakhimpur recorded maximum rainfall of 110 mm. Whereas, 82 mm of rain was received in Varanasi, 76 mm in Ayodhya.
According to Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of CSA University in Kanpur, a cyclonic circulation has formed over Bihar and surrounding areas.
The western end of the monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas. The eastern end passing through Gorakhpur, Vaishali, Malda and then eastwards through Manipur. At present, the rainy season will continue in UP till 13th August.
Least rainfall in these 12 districts in August
Rainfall is consistently above average in many districts. On the other hand, if we talk about one week in the month of August, 12 districts received less than average rainfall. These cities have come in the red zone due to lack of rain.
In this Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Mathura, Shahjahanpur, Farrukhabad, Unnao, Basti, Santakbir Nagar, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Chandauli and Ballia have received negligible rainfall in the month of August. On the other hand, clouds have been camping in Kanpur for the last 48 hours, but it is not raining.
