Agro Haryana, New Delhi: The draft of Delhi's master plan 2041 has come to the fore to change the face of the capital Delhi and to free it from traffic jams.

It has been estimated in the draft master plan that by 2041, the population of Delhi will increase from 26 million to 292 million. The proposed plan has been prepared considering the needs of the population.

Affordable rental housing, well-equipped residential areas and small-format houses are some of the key points of housing development in the national capital, according to the draft Delhi Master Plan 2041,

24 Hour City will have concepts

In the master plan, the capital has been moved towards the concept of 24-hour city. Under this, such circuits will be identified, where continuous work, cultural activity and entertainment activities can take place at night.

The capital can also be promoted as a safe city for night life. Apart from this, the focus will be on the service market to support local turnover.

High speed transport system with modern technology

In Delhi's master plan 2041, a transport system equipped with modern technology has been envisaged to encourage the use of public transport.

This ranges from strategic corridors to the redevelopment of the historic Ring Rail network to strengthen high-speed connectivity.

Under this, it is proposed to explore the possibilities of premium, app-based bus service, express route of DTC and Metro.

The draft states that a Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) will be prepared to integrate city transport at all levels. The link routes will be developed as "Transit Priority Corridors".

Walkway to reduce pollution, focus on cycling

In the new master plan of 2041, new rules have been included for making a cycling highway to connect Delhi-NCR, such a highway will have to be identified by the local body.

To reduce vehicular congestion and pollution, the draft also focuses on creating walkways and cycling.

Along with this, there will be facility of barrier free and continuous walking. As a solution to the parking problem,

there is also a proposal to increase the parking facilities at the bus depot and terminal by making them multistorey. Delhi is the cultural capital. Now the place will be prepared here as a city hub. In this, a public water front will be built on the banks of the Yamuna.

Proposal to make green corridor on the banks of drains

The draft stresses on the need to address the disparity in green cover in the capital. Along with reducing air, water and noise pollution, there is also a proposal to make Yamuna free from pollution. Under this, work will be done on Blue Green Policy for the next two decades.

According to the draft, there is a need to increase greenery in some such dense areas in the capital. For natural greenery, work is to be done on removing trees of foreign species and planting native trees.

Delhi has 200 natural drains, spread across the Najafgarh, Yamunapar and Barapullah drainage basins. It has been proposed to make a green corridor along their banks.

Raw colonies will be developed

Preventing unauthorized colonies from coming up within two years of notification of Master Plan of Delhi-2041 and development of urban villages are some of the proposals set out in the draft plan.

On the lines of DDA's land pooling scheme, the master plan for 2041 has been drafted to systematically develop the raw colonies.

The name of the scheme has been given as Unauthorized Colony Re-Generation Scheme. There are four types of this scheme. In the first type of scheme, the plot size will be 2 to 3 thousand square meters,

in the second type of scheme the plot size will be 3 to 5 thousand square meters. Under both these schemes, there will be no schools and other public utilities in the develop area.

Identification of special places for cultural hotspots

Shahjahanabad, Central Vista and India Gate Lawns, Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, Mehrauli etc. will be recognized as cultural hotspots.

Mandi House, Lodi Institutional Area, Dilli Haat, Dastkar Haat will be recognized as specific hubs, where socio-cultural activities will be promoted.

Banks, restaurants and art galleries will now open in the community hall

The community halls of MCD meant for organizing weddings or any other events will no longer be limited to these events only. In the new master plan, the community hall can also be opened as a bank, ATM, restaurant,

open air theatre, music performance, dance performance, exhibition and art gallery. The Master Plan 2041 proposes to increase the scope of use of the community hall.
