Agro Haryana, New Delhi Ravi Achan Dies: An unfortunate news has emerged for the cricket world amid the Indian Premier League. Former Indian cricketer Ravi Achan has said goodbye to the world. 

Former Kerala cricket team captain Paliath Ravi Achan passed away due to old age related diseases. He was 96 years old. Achan was an all-rounder. He played 55 first class matches for Kerala from 1952 to 1970, scoring 1107 runs and taking 125 wickets. In his family his son K. This is Ram Mohan.

Ravi Achan was the first player of Kerala cricket team to achieve the feat of scoring 1000 runs and taking 100 wickets. Paliyath Ravi Achan died at his son's residence in Thripunithura at around 9 pm on Monday. 

He was 96 years old. His health was not well for the last few months due to age related diseases. Ravi Achan was born in 1928 to Aniyankuttan Thampuran and Kochukkutty Kunjamma, a member of the Paliam royal family. 

Cricket career like this

Ravi Achan's domestic cricket career lasted between 1952 and 1970. During this period, he played 55 first class matches for Travancore-Cochin and Kerala. Achan, a right-handed batsman and right-arm leg spinner, scored 1107 runs and took 125 wickets. 

His best score was 70 runs, which he made in a match against Madras. At the same time, the best bowling of his career was 6 wickets for 34 runs, which he did against Andhra Pradesh.

Along with cricket, he also showed interest in other sports like lawn tennis, badminton and table tennis. He was a constant presence in the cultural sphere of the temple town of Thripunithura. 

He was also associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Balagokulam, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Kathakali Kendram, Purnatrayaisha Sangeet Sabha and Purnatrayaisha Seva Sangham and worked as an office bearer. 

His body has been kept in the apartment of his son Ram Mohan in Tripunithura. The last rites will be performed at the Paliam family crematorium in Chendamangalam on Tuesday at around 3 pm.
