Divers recovered the bodies of two construction workers after the Balti Mor bridge accident on Wednesday (27 March). However, this is not the first time that an incident of a commercial ship colliding with a bridge has come to light. In fact, this was the third such incident in the first three months this year.

In late February in China, a cargo ship collided with the Lixinsha Bridge in the Pearl River Delta in southern Guangzhou province. In the pictures taken after the accident, the bridge was seen divided into two parts.

State broadcaster CCTV reported that reinforcement work on the bridge has been repeatedly postponed in recent years due to structural concerns.

A month before the China accident, a large cargo ship collided with the Zarate-Brazo Largo bridge crossing the Prana River in Argentina. According to media reports, the ship was seriously damaged, although the bridge remained intact.
