This time Washington also mentioned the frozen accounts of Congress. This statement has come from the Biden administration after India summoned a senior American diplomat on Tuesday.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, 'We will continue to closely monitor these actions, including the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.'

Miller was responding to a question during the State Department press conference on India summoning the acting deputy head of the US Embassy in New Delhi, Gloria Barbena, as well as 'freezing' the bank accounts of the Congress Party.

Earlier on Wednesday, India summoned a senior American diplomat. The Ministry of External Affairs lodged a strong protest against the comments of a US State Department official on the arrest of Chief Minister Kejriwal.

Indian Foreign Ministry officials had summoned the acting deputy head of the US Mission, Gloria Barbena, to the office in South Block. The meeting lasted more than 30 minutes.
