Agro Haryana, New Delhi FASTag Rule: The 'one vehicle, one FASTag' rule of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has come into effect from Monday. Its objective is to eliminate the use of one Fastag for multiple vehicles or linking of multiple Fastags to one vehicle.

A senior official said that now more than one Fastag cannot be installed on a vehicle.

He said, "Those who have multiple Fastags for one vehicle will not be able to use them from April 1.

" Keeping in view the problems faced by vehicle owners using Paytm Fastag, NHAI has launched 'One Vehicle, One Fastag.' The deadline for compliance with the initiative was extended till March 31.

Through this, the authority wants to stop the use of the same Fastag for multiple vehicles and also ban linking multiple Fastags to a particular vehicle.

To increase the efficiency of the electronic toll collection system and improve movement at toll plazas, NHAI has started 'One Vehicle, One Fastag' initiative.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had advised customers and businessmen of Paytm's subsidiary Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) to transfer their accounts to other banks by March 15. Let us tell you that Fastag has reach of almost 98 percent vehicles and it has more than eight crore users.

Fastag is an electronic system of toll collection in India and it is operated by NHAI. Fastag uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to make toll payment directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to the toll owner.

With the help of FASTags, cashless payment can be done at toll plazas. With this, drivers spend less time at the toll plaza and do not have to wait or wait less for payment.
